Day Trip To Jinack Island

The Jinack Experience – 1 Day trip to Jinack Island

We will pick you up from the airport or your hotel and take you to Banjul where you have a choice of  three options for crossing the River Gambia to Barra.

You can join the ferry or take a local commuter or cargo canoe that will take you to Barra on the north bank of the river.

From there you will travel by Land Rover through the local villages, countryside and salt flats to the banks of the Niji Creek where a small canoe will transport you to the village of Ginack Niji.  From there it is a short journey by donkey cart to the Feel Free Lodge where drinks and lunch will be served

Then we recommend a short walk along the deserted beach to the while we set up the fishing rods for some beach or boat fishing. We have also set up a number a number of nature trails and treks that will introduce you to the fauna and flora on the island.  Or simply swim in the sea and relax on the beach with a few fishing rods and some cold beer.

Our guides will be available to answer your questions about the history and culture of Jinack Island and take you to particular sites of interest such as the village school or the crocodile pool.
