Feel Free Lodge is a peaceful eco lodge close to the ocean and not far from the river, it is situated in one of most beautiful unspoilt areas in the world I have ever visited. The beach is deserted, I imagine one day it won’t be but for now you only share with a few cows and you are lucky to see another tourist.

Accomodation at the lodge consists of typical round african huts with bathroom and toilet ensiute, offering an ideal base to relax, swim, fish and eat fresh food from the ocean. The island is a haven for birdlife as well as having a crocodile park.

The staff at the lodge are attentive and will help you as much as they are able, arranging transport, fishing trips, bird watching, island walks, even outdoor african cookery lessons if you wish! The food is excellent considering the availibilty, there is no supermarket!

Any operating profit stays to benefit the families who run the lodge and helps support their education and organic agriculture.
It really is paradise with coconuts, palm trees, baobab, deserted beach, smiling africans and is perfect for low budget travellers

A real taste of The Gambia without any of the bumsters.
